Women's Equality Day: let's reflect, celebrate and continue the journey
August 26 marks a special date - Women's Equality Day. As a brand created by women, for women, we have always been about supporting and lifting each other up, cherishing our collective journey towards gender equality.
In preparation for this day we reached out to you, our KAAI community with a simple, yet profound message. Share your stories, thoughts, beliefs and latest learnings on this women's achievements. Our goal? Let's not make it a one-day moment to dwell on but an ongoing conversation.
There's still a way to go.
Are we there yet when it comes to women's equality? The collective voice of the KAAI community was resonant. There's still a way to go. We've made substantial progress, but there remains a road to travel. As a brand that stands for female empowerment we find it crucial to acknowledge this reality and continuously infuse our efforts with positivity and resilience. Let's do this based on the experiences, thoughts and tips that were shared by the community.
Inspire, support and empower.
Let's kick the conversation off with some empowering advice from the community. "Support each other and trust your gut"- Gerda.
Let this be the intake of some initiatives that were undertaken by our community to support other women. For example organising young potential bootcamp programs or coach young female hires in the company. Also little things like being supportive, give compliments and just listen to each other can do wonders.
"Uplift the women around you, celebrate their achievements, and offer support" - Tinne
As we traverse the path towards equality, it's important to take time and draw inspiration from the pioneering women around us. Leading figures like Lien Ceulemans, Michelle Obama and Jacinda Ardern have emerged as beacons of empowerment within our community.
Our community has also shared a wealth of media that celebrates the strength, resilience, and power of women. These movies, books, and series have served as sources of inspiration and empowerment.
Movies: Mother, Thelma & Loiuse, Erin Brokovic, On the basis of sex
Series: Working moms, Dynasty, Self Made, Shrill, Fleabag, The Handmaid's Tale
Books: Violeta by Isabel Allende, Becoming by Michelle Obama, I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai, We Should All Be Feminists by Chimanda Ngozi Adichie

Each one of you can contribute in their own way to this journey. Be it efforts to challenge biases, supporting female-led businesses, or simply lending an empathetic ear to the women around you, every action has an impact.
Let's not make it a one-day moment but let's make it an ongoing conversation. As a female-owned brand, we are deeply invested and see it as our mission to raise awareness. We pass this message on to our team and projects creating an inclusive and empowering environment for all.
Here's to a future where gender equality is not a goal but a reality.
