Meet Elise (33) from Maison Élise
Elise studied fashion and graduated at La Cambre with high distinction of which she's very proud. She worked for eight different fashion companies including Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, in just ten years.
Now that she has her own business, Maison Élise, she can controll everything: no waste, no overstock and no overtime! Besides fashion, she has been in love with her partner Thomas for 15 years, who has been her challenger for nearly half her life now.
A tip from Elise: Leggings are for the gym, ONLY! A nicely folded chic top in your bag can save your day for a last minute appointment.
“I realised that quality fabrics were not always used to their full potential. 'Test' fabrics, were usually left unused. So I wanted to create unique pieces that have character and dress up instantly.” - Elise
Meet Sarah (40) from Sarah de Saint Hubert
Sarah graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2002 and landed her first internship in Paris working for Givenchy’s Haute Couture collections. After many international experiences working together with big designers she decided to take a break from fashion. But she's back with her own label now!
Besides her fashion label, she loves to work on a music project called 'Her Wild Love' together with her boyfriend.
"Follow your wild life' is my moto so I love to spread this word around!" - Sarah
Sarah is addicted to all kind of creative processes, to good food and good wines. She's pretty serious but she also loves laughing. She's an introvert but she also loves sharing. Good advice from Sarah: nothing is perfect but it's all worth it!
“Fashion is a medium, not a purpose. Garments revolve around stories and souls” - Sarah
Her own story lead her into founding her eponymous label SARAH DE SAINT HUBERT in May 2018, launching her first collection at Stijl Brussels in March 2019.
Sarah de Saint Hubert’s collections encapsulate her Belgian and French heritage, the marriage between rock’n’roll and femininity.
A black and white universe that established the brand’s genetics: strong tailoring, iconic pieces and noble fabrics. An original mix of rock attitude and spirit in a pure, muted space.
Designed in Belgium and Ethically made in Portugal.
Meet Morgane (32) from Feliae
Morgane Vandevelde is a 32 years old freelance fashion designer working for two belgian brands, Unrun4254 and Valentine Witmeur Lab.
She studied at ESMOD Paris and specialized in Home Fashion Design which led her to pattern design.
Morgane grew up in Africa and that's where her love for animals started. She had many animals that she considered her friends and playmates.
At the age of 13 she went to live in Ghana in a place where there were many cats. She had a good relationship with the cats and even took one with her to Belgium. A real animal lover for sure!
Feliae was created in 2018 as a silk scarf brand. Animals and travels have always been a source of inspiration for her drawings.
Covid-19 and the adoption of Morganes dog made her think a lot about how we treat animals in the fashion industry - every industry actually-, which is why, in 2022, Feliae will be rebranded as a fashion initiative acting for animal welfare.
"Animals were always in the center of my preoccupations and it will now be my very first priority." - Morgane
To do so, she's aiming to collaborate with charities acting for animals and brands willing to make a difference for our planet.
Meet Sanne (31) from Cécile
Besides her passion for cooking and good food, Sanne likes to be busy with interior decoration. She has a great love for plants and likes to use them to decorate her cosy coffee bar. Her favourite food varies from lobster and fresh figs to gratin Dauphinois and broccoli.
She likes to taste food and she likes to prepare food, but who says she can't write about food? Sanne secretly dreams of writing a cookbook, but nothing too crazy: just good simple food with a twist and easy for everyone to make.
A rule of Sanne's: only use fresh ingredients!
The all-round food and event concept Cécile from Brussels was born in 2016 from the desire for breakfast in bed. Today, Cécile can be contacted for event organisation and event catering. For each client she creates a personalized event concept or menu where originality, fresh ingredients and homemade dishes are key.
Do you just want to enjoy the delicious food and drinks on the spot? You certainly can! Cécile's doors are always open to welcome everyone from Monday till Sunday. For brunch, lunch, dinner or just to enjoy a cup of coffee with a delicious piece of cake.
